SpaceNet

There are two versions of the SpaceNet interplanetary supply chain software:

  • SpaceNet 1.3: Matlab/Excel based version
  • SpaceNet 2.1: JAVA/webstart standalone version

The SpaceNet software is a simulation and optimization tool that captures the concepts and ideas related to interplanetary supply chain management and logistics architectures. The software models interplanetary space logistics as a network, allowing the user to input scenarios, simulate them, and generate measures of effectiveness. Optimization can be used to find the best logistics network for a given set of surface missions, and trade studies can be carried out to evaluate various types of logistics architectures against one another.

An overall model block diagram was created in order to understand how the software could be divided into modules and the interfaces between these modules.
